Forget-Me-ThoughtEarly morning forget-me-not,  Perched upon a table top,  Sitting in his pretty pot,  Living peaceful and serene.   
Young and strong, his petals blooming,  His dazzling colors bright and booming,  His leaves, he stretches, to the ceiling,  Maturing  perfect and pristine.   
Mid-day maiden, hair of gold,  Came prancing through his quiet hold  Her laughing smile of secrets told,  Beckoning wryly and with need.

"Mom. Would you mind telling me again, what kind of movie we're here to see?" I ask as I skeptically eye the rows of three to seven year old children. I swear, sometimes my mom has the mind of a five year old. As if to confirm this, when I turn to her, I can tell she's trying not to bounce in her seat.   
She must be really excited.   
I sigh and rub my eyes; I still wasn't completely rested from last week's camping trip.  
 
 "Don't worry honey, you'll like this one, I swear."   
 "You said that about Ice Age, and-"

 I slowly turn my head to look at Alexis on the other side of the couch.  She's zoned out on the TV.   
Lex is staying at my house this week while her parents are out of town. We've gotten in this daily routine:   
Wake up  Shower  Eat  Got to band camp  Come home from band camp  Watch the Maury show  Eat lunch  Watch the Jerry show  Tackle some random act (organize the book shelf, torture a spider, paint our nails, etc…)   
So, here we are, sprawled out on the couch together, legs mixed up, watching The Jerry Show. Of course, The The Summer Series: 2of5

Ashes of Meaning   
I felt as if I had been struck by lightning. My back went ramrod straight, my eyes large pools of disbelief, my skin color turned perceptibly lighter, and I felt my soul wither inside me. Slowly I turned to Alexis, she looking no better off than I.   
“…what….did you just say?”   
Just as slowly, she turned her wide eyes to me and then double checked her cell phone screen to make sure she wasn’t mistaken… though we both wished she were.

anywhooooo. so i put up some new stuff. thats about it i guess. i have some more peices i'm saving yet to put up because i dont want to hit another dry spell, but just to keep you interested, i'll put up one.

its a series of short stories i had to write for class about things and my reactions to things i did over the summer. it says the assign. at the beggin of the story, so you'll know! check them out! :]
